How do I import a GPX or KML file into OsmAnd?

OsmAnd imports .gpx, .kml and .kmz for tracks, routes and favourites. KML and KMZ are converted to GPX as they come in, so the GPX is the one to take if you would rather skip the conversion. OsmAnd stores its maps on the device, so once you have downloaded the Iceland map the waypoints work with no connection.

What to do

  1. Download the GPX.
  2. Open the file on your phone and choose OsmAnd, or place it in OsmAnd's tracks folder — files added there are picked up without restarting the app.
  3. Download the Iceland map inside OsmAnd while you have a connection.
